A 10-Month Mentorship Group
for girls 6th-8th grades
Wheel of the Wild:
A Journey of the Inner Seasons
In this girls' group we move through four directions, following the arc of the medicine wheel, honoring how this mirrors the rhythms of the feminine.
This cohort meets monthly, alternating between two (indoor and outdoor) locations throughout the year.
The girls will create expressions of beauty from their inner landscapes, and engage with with creative flow as a resource. We practice playful curiosity towards all of our emotional states, and learn deeper herbal/body wisdom to support the feminine bio-rhythms.
We culminate in July 2026 with a 4-day backpacking trip, filled with ceremony, rites of passage challenge, nature integration and play!
You can preview our curriculum in more depth here.
Seasonal Parent Integration Circles:
As an additional bonus we are weaving Parent Integration Circles into this offering, one for each season (3 total). Co-led by April, Shea & Magnolia all who have worked and supported parents professionally, two of whom are parents themselves.
We know that parents desire to stay connected to what we are offering, want to practice emotional resilience skills themselves, and be in community as well.

This program runs the length of the school year, meeting monthly with breaks for holidays- September 2027-June 2026.
We have space to welcome 12 girls.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: We want our daughter to join but are already doing so many other extracurriculars. Can she attend just some of the meetings?
A: We understand that many families are balancing multiple commitments. Because these groups are designed as cohort-based mentorship experiences, regular attendance is important. Trust, belonging, and group cohesion develop over time through shared experiences, and each participant plays a role in shaping the culture of the group. We have intentionally designed our schedule with family life in mind: the 12-14 age cohorts meet primarily on weekends, and the 9–11 age cohorts meet on a single weekday each week. While we recognize that participation requires a meaningful commitment of time and resources, we believe the depth of the experience comes in part from that consistency.
Q: My daughter is unsure about joining, can she try it out before we commit?
A: This mentorship is designed as a committed cohort experience, so we do not offer trial sessions. Much of the trust, belonging, and depth that emerge throughout the year are built through consistency and shared experience over time. That said, we also recognize that stepping into a new group can feel vulnerable. Many In our experience, it often takes 2–4 gatherings for a girl to find her footing within a new community. We often orient families to explore one of our lower-commitment offerings to check the vibe . StoryCraft gatherings, song circles, seasonal celebrations, and other standalone events provide an opportunity to meet our facilitators, and get a feel for the culture of our community. If you have questions about whether the mentorship is right for your child, we are always happy to schedule a conversation with your family.
Q: My daughter doesn't really like talking about her feelings...is that what this is? What can I tell her this group is about?
A: Not at all. While emotional growth is certainly part of the experience, these groups are not centered around sitting in a circle and talking about feelings.
Girls connect in many different ways. We learn through storytelling, creative projects, games, nature connection, movement, mentorship, collaboration, and shared experiences. Meaningful conversations often emerge naturally through these activities, but no one is ever pressured to share more than feels right.
You might tell your daughter that the group is about friendship, creativity, adventure, learning new skills, and being part of a community of girls who are growing together.
Q: My daughter is exploring gender and/or uses they/them pronouns. Are they welcome?
A: Yes. Wild Rivers welcomes young people who feel called to participate in our offerings, including those who are exploring questions of gender and identity.
Our programs are centered around supporting girls and the many ways that feminine experience may be expressed and understood. We are committed to creating a culture of respect, authenticity, and belonging.
It is important to note that some aspects of our curriculum explore the biological rhythms of the female body, including menstrual cycles, puberty, embodiment, and the transitions of girlhood. We approach these topics with care, recognizing that each participant may have a unique relationship to their body, identity, and lived experience, and we leave it to your family's discernment to see if this space, or a perhaps an affinity group for gender exploration, is the best fit for your young one.
We recognize that every child and family arrives with their own story. If you have questions about whether a particular offering would be a good fit for your child, we are always happy to be in conversation.
