WILD RIVERS COLLECTIVE

PARTICIPANT AGREEMENT, ASSUMPTION OF RISK, RELEASE OF LIABILITY, AND PARENT/GUARDIAN CONSENT

1. Acknowledgment of Program Activities

I understand that my child is voluntarily participating in a Wild Rivers Collective mentorship program that may include, but is not limited to:

• Outdoor and nature-based activities

• Hiking, walking, and travel on uneven terrain

• Beach, river, forest, and wilderness excursions

• Transportation to and from program locations and special outings

• Group games and movement activities

• Storytelling, ceremony, reflection, and emotional processing activities

• Team-building and personal growth challenges

• Nature connection practices

• Handcrafts, art projects, woodworking, carving, hand tools, knives (when age-appropriate and supervised), and other traditional skills

• Use of natural materials and outdoor equipment

• Exposure to changing weather and environmental conditions

• Activities conducted on private, public, or rented properties

I understand that program locations and activities may vary and may include field trips, excursions, celebrations, and special events beyond the primary meeting location.

 

2. Assumption of Risk

I acknowledge that participation in these activities involves inherent risks that cannot be completely eliminated, including but not limited to:

• Slips, trips, falls, and other accidents

• Exposure to sun, wind, rain, heat, cold, insects, plants, and wildlife

• Injuries resulting from physical activity

• Injuries associated with transportation or travel

• Injuries arising from the use of tools, equipment, or craft materials

• Emotional discomfort that may arise through personal reflection, group sharing, mentorship activities, or discussions

• Unexpected hazards associated with outdoor environments

I knowingly and voluntarily assume all risks, known and unknown, associated with my child's participation in the program.

3. Health and Participation

I affirm that my child is physically and emotionally capable of participating in program activities.

I agree to provide relevant medical, behavioral, allergy, or emergency information that may affect my child's participation or safety.

I understand that Wild Rivers Collective reserves the right to limit or discontinue participation if a participant's behavior presents a safety concern for themselves or others.

3A. Nature of Services and Acknowledgment Regarding Therapy

I understand that Wild Rivers Collective provides mentorship, outdoor education, rites-of-passage experiences, personal growth opportunities, and community-based programming.

While facilitators may include licensed educators, mental health professionals, pre-licensed therapists, or individuals with training in youth development and emotional wellbeing, participation in this program does not establish a therapist-client relationship, counseling relationship, or any other professional mental health treatment relationship between my child and Wild Rivers Collective or its facilitators.

I understand that this program is not psychotherapy, counseling, behavioral health treatment, crisis intervention, medical care, or a substitute for professional mental health services.

Program activities may invite self-reflection, emotional expression, group discussion, and personal growth experiences. I acknowledge that emotional responses may arise naturally through participation. However, facilitators are acting in the role of mentors, educators, and program leaders rather than mental health treatment providers.

If my child requires mental health treatment, psychological services, behavioral health support, crisis intervention, or ongoing therapeutic care, I understand that it is my responsibility to seek those services through appropriate licensed providers.

4. Release of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release, waive, and discharge Wild Rivers Collective, its founders, facilitators, volunteers, contractors, employees, assistants, partner organizations, host sites, landowners, property owners, event venues, transportation providers, and affiliated representatives from any and all claims, demands, actions, causes of action, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses arising from or related to my child's participation in program activities.

This release applies to activities occurring at regular program sessions, special events, excursions, field trips, transportation activities, opening and closing celebrations, and any other Wild Rivers Collective-sponsored experiences.

I understand that this release does not apply to conduct that is determined by law to constitute gross negligence, recklessness, or intentional misconduct.

5. Medical Authorization

In the event of illness, injury, or emergency, I authorize Wild Rivers Collective and its representatives to secure emergency medical treatment for my child if I cannot be immediately reached.

I understand that I am financially responsible for any medical care, transportation, or treatment provided.

6. Cancellation & Refund Policy 

The girls' mentorship journey is designed as a full 10-week container, with relationships, trust, and experiences building week by week. We ask families to enroll with the intention of completing the entire program.

A non-refundable deposit of $200 secures your daughter's place in the cohort and covers planning, materials, and administrative costs already invested on her behalf.

Should a significant life circumstance arise that requires your family to withdraw, please reach out to us directly. We will work together to find a path forward. Families remain responsible for any tuition payments due through the month in which notice is given, while future payments may be discontinued. We approach these situations with care, communication, and mutual responsibility.
